Properties:
Soothing, calming, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, carminative, restorative, emmenagogue, insecticide, restorative and stimulant.
Usage & methods of application:
Spearmint is similar to peppermint, although it's a little more gentle and slightly less powerful with far less menthol, making it good for use on sensitive skins and for children.
It has a cooling and soothing effect on itchy, irritated skin and can help calm and reduce redness and inflammation. When used in a facial steam it can help decongest and cleanse skin, hugely beneficial for oily, acne prone skin.
When burned or vaporised Spearmint can help improve concentration and focus and can help treat mental fatigue and depression. It can also help with migraines and headaches and can be beneficial for respiratory problems such as coughs and colds.
When blended for massage it's useful for soothing an unsettled stomach and is generally beneficial for digestion problems such as vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and constipation.

Citrus reticulata peel oil is the volatile oil obtained by expression from the peel of tangerine, Citrus reticulata, Rutaceae.
Tangerine essential oil may be beneficial in the treatment of stretch marks.
Try blending 2 drops of Tangerine with 1 drop of Lavender, 1 drop of Mandarin and 1 drop of Neroli to 10ml of Sweet Almond Oil and 2mls Wheatgerm Oil or Rosehip Seed Oil. This makes a lovely and effective massage oil which may be used daily. You can also combine it with a base preparation such as a cream or lotion for similar results.
Or why not try a few drops in a bath for a relaxing soak at bedtime (even nicer when combined with with Neroli).
You can also burn or vaporise it - Tangerine can soothe the nervous system and reduce stress. It may also provide a boost to the digestive system.
Tangerine has a gentle action - it's nice for helping to relax children and is always good to have in the house in case of tantrums or for when the kids get over-excited!
