Schalenblende, also known as sphalerite, is a zinc sulphide mineral commonly found in hydrothermal veins, sedimentary exhalative deposits, and metamorphic rocks. It typically forms rounded, globular, or botryoidal masses as well as well-defined tetrahedral crystals, exhibiting colours from yellow, brown, red, to deep black, often with a resinous to submetallic lustre. In folklore, Schalenblende was valued for attracting wealth and offering protection. Metaphysically, it is believed to enhance grounding, focus, and emotional resilience, helping to absorb negativity while promoting clarity, balance, and personal growth.
